Q & A Service

Why will sacrifices be offered again in the millennial reign when Christ was offered up once and for all?

Q & A Service

Where in scripture is it found that children are not condemn until they reach the age of accountability?

New Center Radio 6-9-15 “My Hell Is Running Over”

This week on the Potters Wheel we will be listening to a message titled “My Hell Is Running Over”. Sometimes in this life it seems that everything is going wrong, no matter what you do nothing goes right. However even in our despair we need to remember the God we serve. Let us listen to Pastor Jonathan Burris teach us about times such as this but first we will listen to a song by Warren family.

We Have a Works Salvation Where God Does All the Work

Romans 10:13-17 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

In this Scripture, we see how to be saved. Additionally, we see the work of salvation. Salvation requires works, but all of these works are done by God and not man. In order to be saved, one must call upon Christ. How can one do so unless they believe? How can one believe unless he has heard? How can one hear without a messenger? How can there be a messenger unless he is sent? Let us then review the work of God in salvation:

  1. God gives the messenger.
  2. God gives the message.
  3. God gives faith upon hearing the message.
  4. God enables us to believe through the faith He has given.
  5. God draws us to Himself.
  6. God imputes righteousness upon the believer.

Now we shall consider our part:

  1. Believe

That is all we must do. Full provision has already been made for our souls. Every arrangement is in order. There is no wonder as to why the writer of the Book of Hebrews wrote:

Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Knowing that salvation is not of our works lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:9), we can be secure in our salvation because it is God who has done all the work. Our part is but to accept Him. If you have not yet done so, please call on Him now before it is too late.

Jonathan Burris

The week on the Potters Wheel we will be listening to a message titled “Seek The Lord Early”. When do you seek The Lord? Do you wait until you are faced with something too big to handle? In good times, in hard times, and even in times when everything seems just ok, we need to seek The Lord and seek him early.  Let us listen to Pastor Jonathan Burris teach us about seeking The Lord but first we will listen to Amy Hooker.
